Maxell's DAT tape incorporates a 5 layer construction which includes the adoption of an exceptionally smooth base film/dust resistant back coating layer and a highly polished magnetic surface that ensures stable tape running. An exceptionally uniform dispersion and surface calendering (polishing) process, contributes towards raising RF output and lowering modulation noise.
